Geothermal Desuperheater
A desuperheater will reduce your hot water bill by up to 50%. It is an additional component that can be installed along with the geothermal heat pump. In the summer time, when the heat pump works as an air conditioner, the heat extracted from the house can be used to pre-heat the hot water tank directly. This heat is essentially free since it would be ejected into the ground otherwise. In the winter time, a portion of the heat that is used to warm up the house can be diverted to pre-heat the hot water tank.
The desueprheater acts as a supplementary heating source to reduce the energy required to keep the hot water tank at its set temperature.
